Vladimir Putin has signed into law a measure that stigmatises gay people and bans giving children any information about homosexuality.
MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a measure that stigmatises gay people and bans giving children any information about homosexuality.

The lower house of Russia's parliament unanimously passed the Kremlin-backed bill on June 11 and the upper house approved it last week.

The ban on "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations" is part of an effort to promote traditional Russian values over Western liberalism, which the Kremlin and the Russian Orthodox Church see as corrupting Russian youth and contributing to the protests against Putin's rule.

Hefty fines can now be imposed on those who provide information about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community to minors or hold gay pride rallies.

The Kremlin announced today that Putin has signed the legislation into law.

It's a good move. Many countries observe it as a crime, and it should be. There are death penalties in some middle east countries too. A man and a woman came into existence with a certain purpose, and these people want to become gay and lesbians, something which they think the opposite sex can't fulfil, which is a wrong observation. And governments and their HR departments instead of showing the right path agree to legalize it only cuz of ongoing continuous protests across the globe.

Forgive yourself and ask Allah for forgiveness for any sins you may have committed. You need to let go of past mistakes and work on improving the future. Whatever has happened is done. It is in the past and there is nothing you can do to change it or better it. The only thing you can do is forgive yourself and sincerely repent to Allah and sincerely ask Him for forgiveness. Use those negative experiences as motivation to get better and do good.

Sinning is not the issue it is the gay agenda and propaganda that is. Besides it is Russia protecting its people from the US influence. The gays are an anti-social being. No one wishes their death or to suppress them.

WHETHER WE ACCEPT OR NOT IRREGULAR SHAPE OF THINGS ALSO PART OF NATUURE. I remember having gone through one of the television telecast of the famous International scientist Sri Stephan( I quote from my memory) according to which we could understand that Nature by it's very nature did not put things in shape or in order. It always put things including the galaxy of stars and planets in an irregular shape and manner so that man should keep on striving to set right those irregular shaped things in order and in a shaped form. This it does according the famous scientist for the reason that man in this manner and as a byproduct of his efforts would keep on improving his creative talent. Now coming to the point at issue let us go into the recently passed law of the Russian government that keeps a ban on outward revelation of the activities of the gays and lesbians as well in public . Yes, the intention of the said legislation is loud and clear that the activities of both the gays and lesbians are not of that type that have to be exhibited in public, particularly before the children. As I have not gone through the contents of the Rulussia legislation I may not be in a position to dwell upon the same . However, we may to a limited extent invoke the general analysis of the above TV telecast and conclude that whether we have liking of positive nature or not, we may have to learn to co-exist with the being of the gays and lesbians basing on the universal policy-LIVE AND LET LIVE!

Brilliant. Russia has had long mystical traditions inspite of communist rule and now has shown to the west and the rest of the world what civilization means and not animilization which is mistaken for civilization in USA and England.

Which civilization u r talking about? I am not a gay and i wouldn't prefer my child to be one. but...homosexuality has always been part of human civilization. Arabs used to do it and still do it. Quran mentions that a muslim when go to paradise, will have 72 boys to serve him as sex slaves. Alexander the great was bi-sexual. there are many instances of medieval European kings being gays. Khajuraho temples have gay sex statues. it doesnt mean that we should encourage or cherish homosexuality. but we can not make it criminal.

So much for atheistic values of Communism. This move, no matter how ethically resolute, is against the core concept of Marxism. Seems to me America is at last winning the cold war. I hope the present regime does not imitate the Nazi's eventually.

Not a bad move but when it comes from this man, I can't believe my eyes seeing the sheer hypocrisy on the part of Mr. Putin to try to gain the support of the majority Christians in his country. He flirted around with young girls including the Russian famous gymnast and he eventually divorced his wife recently. Let the world know that this guy is sheer hypocrite, nothing more! Good Christians have always opposed homosexuality and its sinful practices for ages.
