:  "The Quiet American" Staring Michael Caine, Brendan Fraser, Do Thi Hai Yen watch it if you can. You will never view the wars of today the same way again. I'm talking about the 2002 version of Graham Greene's novel, Not the CIA funded 1958 version which turns the story on it's head and makes the bad guys good and the good guys bad. Skip the 1958 version its BS. Graham Greene's novel The Quiet American (1955) told the story of a love triangle against the background of America's "adventures" in Vietnam in the early 1950s--when, he shows us, the CIA used pleasant, presentable agents like Pyle to pose as "aid workers" while arranging terrorist acts that would justify our intervention there.
